The octopus is one of God's most amazing creations. It is an exceptional creature with unusual abilities. It can taste food with its arms, change colors, solve puzzles with its nine brains and both see and recognize people. Surprisingly there are few Hanukkah stories that feature an octopus in a leading role. Its eight arms are a perfect fit for a Hanukkah story that celebrates the lighting of an eight-branched hanukkiah.
