The Greatest Mystery

Last week, I talked a bit about my new book—the eleventh book in my mystery series! I’m thrilled to have been able to finish it over my summer break and I’m excited to get this one released. I’ve always enjoyed a good mystery. I like figuring things out, especially when the antagonist is so diabolical that it seems like no one, nobody can stop them.

Within our framework of the three pillars, we look closely at healing from trauma, using our gifts, and growing our faith. The first two pillars are the easier ones to address, but when it comes to growing our faith there seem to be an unlimited number of challenges to getting the message across. Why? I think it’s because faith is so personal. It’s so individualized. And contrary to what many believe, it cannot be a one size fits all. You simply cannot tell someone how to have faith. Faith is something you have to figure out on your own—with God’s help, of course.

But we can point one another in the right direction. Even when we don’t quite have it all figured out ourselves, we may have learned something along the way that another person will find useful. That’s why I like to encourage people to share their stories. You never know whose experiences may hold the clues you need to help you solve your own personal mystery.

Jesus didn’t just hand out answers. He taught by example. Our stories, when shared, invite us to ask questions, have conversations, and to wrestle with the truth in our own context. They help us discover what is real and what brings healing. No one has all of the answers, but when we share our questions, we help each other get closer to the One who can solve every mystery. Our journey is about finding faith by uncovering His faithfulness—every step of the way.

The Case Isn't Closed

Every mystery leaves us with something to think about.

Faith does, too.

If today's reflection sparked new questions or reminded you of God's faithfulness, we invite you to explore the books and devotionals published by Higher Ground Books & Media.

You never know which story may provide the next clue you need.
