You probably thought I was going to say school, didn't you? Actually, this post is inspired by the whole back-to-school thing that many of us are dealing with this week. My daughter started her sophomore year of high school this morning and in keeping with the spirit of new beginnings, I've decided to do something new myself. It's probably obvious that I'm a big proponent of lifelong learning; being as I publish materials that show growth and experience as being vital to having a good outcome as a human.
I wouldn't normally share a post like this on this particular blog, but I feel that part of what makes me able to do the work I do for Higher Ground Books & Media is my willingness to keep learning and keep growing. So, with that in mind, I'm embarking on a program. I'm calling it 47 Days of Self-Care. 47 because that is the number of years that God has allowed me to be on the planet. Self-Care because this is the area I generally struggle with on a day-to-day basis and since many of our authors are very good at this part, I wanted to share this here first.
Over the next 47 days, I will be posting on this blog and two others that I have; Leading the Follower and Higher Ground for Life. I will be putting up a variety of things including the dreaded video blog posts that everyone else is so adept at posting. I also plan on calling in the experts to supply a few guest posts as they relate to some of the books we have in our collection. And, of course, I want to share my progress on this journey with you as I go. Who knows? I might even write a book about it.
So, here's to new beginnings and learning how to be the best that we can be. I hope you will follow these posts and provide your comments and suggestions when possible. And as always, if you are looking for some great self-care resources, check out our shop for help with one of the best self-care practices around...prayer. We've got all sorts of great devotionals, so pick one up today!
Have a great day!
